Parakeet FA asked me whether I could write about our recently concluded tour to the Floating Restaurant on the Ganges… and so… um… well… okay let’s begin the reminiscence session over a glass of mock tails
and what would it be without thinking about all those weeks when we -the parakeets- were anticipation the real event… (close your eyes and relive those weeks) –--- the subtle threats from friends “if you don’t come I’ll not go either” the nonstop drive to collect the money for the trip and most importantly the permission letter with the clause “any mishap is not the responsibility of the college”…. thousand sighs!!!
The bus ride was a complete package with the initial surprise of having Sidhi ma’m with us and then a ride full of songs and masti… The bus ride to the Ganga ghat near NIT Patna was indeed the noisiest ride I’ve ever had. The restaurant was not a restaurant but a cruise which took us to a white sand fantasy land… a delta in the middle of the Ganges… I remember the exited rush on the deck of the boat… everybody running helter-shelter to get as many pics clicked as possible… and some beautiful antics better only not recounted in words (I don’t want my neck wringed by my classmates!!!)
We all loved loved the sands but there was not much time to revel as well as have lunch. The lunch was preferred and at 3:00 PM we left the delta on our way back. Here I must talk about the great game of anonymous gift exchange… which was called “playin angel” by our HOD Sr. Jessie. And so true it was a beautiful game and perhaps the highlight of the trip.
As the trip to was all noisy the chief feature of the trip back was silence … silence which is unheard of in class as all the girls sat in their seats after exhausting day out.
and what else was there? only a lifetime of memories.
