Rekindling the EngLit in Me :)

(as I start University..)


Will you scream ‘Traitor!’ if I say:

1.   I like ‘contemporary’ better than the classics?

2.   I don’t really understand whatever Eliot says (at least not as much as is expected of me now.)?

3.   I think D. H Lawrence was a moron?

4.   I favour Dr. Johnson’s view of the Metaphysical Poets and not Eliot’s?

5.   I would burn every piece by Jane Austen if it were my free will that reigned supreme?

6.   I love Shaw. Totally. And prefer him over Eliot?

7.   I think Metaphysical poetry is great and enjoy it much more than the Romantic poetry?

8.   I think Coleridge as a critic was way better than Wordsworth?

9.   I am almost certain that Indian EP has a future if we look into it !?

10.   I have read Dickens only in abridged version?.( Although I have him on my shelf just to pretend that I read it.) ..

Wtf! Coz, even as I write #10, I am picking up “Hard Times”.. because my Mr. S (my subconscious :P) is screaming “TRAITOR” ! :P
